I am going to introduce three American dramas. Those are my favorite TV show.

NCIS重返犯罪現場
NCIS follows a fictional team of Naval Criminal Investigative Service Major Case Response Team (MCRT) special agents headquartered at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, D.C. It is described by the actors and producers (on special features on DVD releases in the United States) as being distinguished by its comic elements, ensemble acting and character-driven plots.
NCIS is the primary law enforcement and counter-intelligence arm of the United States Department of the Navy, which includes the United States Marine Corps. NCIS investigates all major criminal offenses —crimes punishable under the Uniform Code of Military Justice by confinement of more than one year—within the Department of the Navy. The MCRT is frequently assigned to high profile cases such as the death of the U.S. president's military aide, a bomb situation on a U.S. Navy warship, the death of a celebrity on a reality show set on a USMC base, terrorist threats, and kidnappings.

This is the most favorite drama in my mind. I like it very much. I think it is interesting and fascinated. I especially like the way it tells us about the stories. All of characters have totally different personality. I really enjoy watching the show, I hope you do so.

Grey's Anatomy實習醫生格蕾
Grey's Anatomy is an American medical drama television series. It follows the lives of interns, residents and their mentors in the fictional Seattle Grace-Mercy West Hospital in Seattle, Washington. The pilot episode, "A Hard Day's Night" premiered on March 27, 2005 on ABC. Since then, six seasons have aired. The show has been renewed for a seventh season.[3] Season seven will begin airing in September 2010.
The show has attained commercial success and critical acclaim. Initially airing as a midseason replacement for the legal drama Boston Legal, it gained high viewership, with the first episode watched by 16.25 million viewers,[4] and the first season finale attracting 22.22 million viewers.[5] Winner of two Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards, the show is one of the most watched prime time television series.

This story tells us about what will happen when doctors work in a hospital. It not only tells us about how they work but also describes about what their lives are. It is a little complicated. If you did not follow on every episodes, then you mind be a little confused. After all, I still like it very much.
這個影集告訴我們有關醫生在醫院裡工作的故事。它不只告訴我們醫生在醫院工作的情形，還告訴我們醫生們平常卸下工作後的私生活是如何。如果你不是從一開始就跟著看這部影集，那到後來你可能會有一點混亂，因為它其實在人物關係的刻畫上有一點複雜。不過無論如何，我還是很喜歡這個影集。
CSI犯罪現場
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (also known as CSI) is an American crime drama television series, which premiered on CBS on October 6, 2000. The show was created by Anthony E. Zuiker and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. It is filmed primarily at Universal Studios in Universal City, California.
The series follows Las Vegas criminalists as they use physical evidence to solve grisly murders in this unusually graphic drama, which has inspired a host of other cop-show "procedurals". An immediate ratings smash for CBS, the series mixes deduction, gritty subject matter and popular characters. The network quickly capitalized on its hit with spin-offs CSI: Miami and CSI: NY, and renewed CSI for an eleventh season on May 19, 2010.
CSI has been recognized as the most popular dramatic series internationally by the Festival de Télévision de Monte-Carlo, which has awarded it the "International Television Audience Award (Best Television Drama Series)" three times.

小組成員們調查神秘、不尋常、有時陰森的死亡事件以判定事實。他們同時也調查其他重大犯罪事件，不過謀殺案件還是這個系列影集的主題所在。
This drama is different from NCIS., although their types are similar. This drama focus on how science works on criminal investigating. If you see NCIS and CSI at the same time, then you will know that they tell stories in different way. But this drama start earlier than NCIS, and it also has a lot of audiences. I think it is still worth to see.
這部影集雖然內容和NCIS很相近，但實際上卻完全不同。這部影集著墨於科學方法如何運用於打擊犯罪。如果你這兩部影集都有看過，那你就會知道它們的拍攝手法是完全不同的。不過這部影集開始在電視上播放的時間很早，還是擁有廣大的忠實觀眾的，它還是有它的價值和可看性的。

4 years once the World Cup was held at the recent. When World Cup was held, there are so many fans crazy for it. And I am also crazy for World Cup s, so I want to have a little introduction to it. In addition, I also find some campaigns which hold once for four year. Like the Olympic and World Games. Olympic is a grand sports event in the world, and the World Games had were held in Kaohsiung.
4年一度的世界盃足球賽在最近舉行，每當世足舉行時總有許多球迷為它瘋迷，我也是瘋世足迷一員，因此想對它稍稍的介紹。另外我找了一些也是四年舉辦一次的運動，像是奧運還有世運。奧運也是一件盛大的世界運動盛事，而世運曾在高雄舉行過，也稍稍的介紹。
World Cup is an international competition between the national soccer team. It held every four years by FIFA, alternating with the Olympics. The World Cup became the world's most popular sporting since 1998. In 1930 the first World Cup race in 1942 and was closed in 1946 because of World War II.
World Cup is divided into two parts, qualified games and final rounds. Qualified games will start at the first three years, to determine which team will enter the final round. There are 32 teams get into the final rounds. The team will compete in the host country to win championship in a month.
It has been organized in 18 sessions. There were a total of seven countries won the game. Brazil is the only team witch could play into the final round 18th. And it has won the championship five times. And Italian team won the championship four times. Germany won third. While Uruguay and Argentina won twice. England and France won once which played in their own countries.
The recent World Cup held in South Africa, opened on June 11, 2010 and will close on July 11. Next game will be held in Brazil.

The late 19th century, Baron Pierre de Coubertin founded the International Olympic Committee (IOC). From the 1896, Olympic Games held every four years (in the two world wars interrupted three times, respectively, 1916, 1940 and 1944). A game doesn't hold exceed 16 days. As the 1924 Winter Olympics set up, so the Olympic Games traditionally known as "Summer Olympic Games." Olympic now has become a symbol of peace and friendship.
To honor the people who killed in the First World War, the Olympic lit the torch in opening ceremony in 1920. This form was inherited after that time. And it also used the Olympic Flag for first time. In addition, the athletes' oath-taking ceremony in opening and flag handover ceremony in closing ceremony were also held at this time. Torch Relay and light the torch at opening ceremony were held in 1936. Referee declaration was held in 1968.

World Games races about 25 to 35 kinds, the number of competition is decided by the host city facilities. It seldom constructs new facilities for some competitions. Classified as "invitational" project will hold, but not awarded medals. Even if some of the game is the official program, the host city can be classified as invitational.
For the first time the World Games in 1981 held in Santa Clara, California. And the latest time was held in Kaohsiung in 2009.

The initial premise of the book is terrific. We're in the '60s and a doctor finds himself in a situation on a snowy night in which he must deliver his own child, with the help of his nurse Caroline (who has a secret crush on him). The first child, Paul, is healthy, but the second, a girl, is born with Down's Syndrome. Those two sets of lives make for a thought-provoking contrast, a study in what really determines a family's happiness. I recommend this story to readers, after reading that you can get more point of view of Down's Syndrome.

The initial premise of the book is terrific. We're in the '60s and a doctor finds himself in a situation on a snowy night in which he must deliver his own child, with the help of his nurse Caroline (who has a secret crush on him). The first child, Paul, is healthy, but the second, a girl, is born with Down's Syndrome. Those two sets of lives make for a thought-provoking contrast, a study in what really determines a family's happiness. I recommend this story to readers, after reading that you can get more point of view of Down's Syndrome.

一 嗆辣紅椒合唱團（英語：Red Hot Chili Peppers，縮寫為RHCP）
是1983年成立於加州洛杉磯的美國另類搖滾樂團，現由主唱安東尼•基頓、吉他手約翰•伏許安、貝斯手「跳蚤」麥可•巴札里及鼓手查德•史密斯組成。樂團音樂風格多變，主要由傳統放克融合另類搖滾、龐克搖滾、迷幻搖滾等元素。

Red Hot Chili Peppers is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1983. The band's current line-up is Anthony Kiedis (vocals), Michael "Flea" Balzary (bass), Chad Smith (drums) and Josh Klinghoffer (guitar). Their musical style has fused traditional funk with elements of other genres including hip hop, punk rock and psychedelic rock.
The group originally featured guitarist Hillel Slovak and drummer Jack Irons. Slovak, however, died of a heroin overdose in 1988, resulting in Irons' departure.[1] Irons was replaced briefly by former Dead Kennedys drummer D.H. Peligro before the band found a permanent replacement in Smith, while Slovak was replaced by up-and-coming guitarist John Frusciante. This lineup recorded the band's fourth and fifth albums, Mother's Milk (1989) and Blood Sugar Sex Magik (1991).
Blood Sugar Sex Magik was a significant record for the band; having sold over thirteen million copies, it provided the group's initial mainstream commercial success. Frusciante grew uncomfortable with this new found success and left abruptly in the middle of the tour for the album in 1992, descending into heroin addiction. After recruiting guitarist Arik Marshall to finish the tour, Kiedis, Flea, and Smith employed Dave Navarro of Jane's Addiction for their subsequent album, One Hot Minute (1995). Although fairly successful, it did not match the critical acclaim of Blood Sugar Sex Magik and sold less than half the copies of its predecessor. Shortly afterwards, Navarro departed the band due to creative differences. Frusciante, fresh out of drug rehabilitation, rejoined the band in 1998, at Flea's request. The reunited quartet returned to the studio to record Californication (1999), which went on to sell fifteen million units worldwide, becoming their most commercially successful album to date. It was followed three years later with By the Way (2002), which continued their success. In 2006, the group released the double album Stadium Arcadium, giving them their first American number one album.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers have won seven Grammy Awards. The band has sold over 55 million albums worldwide, has had eight singles in the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 (including three singles in the Top 10), five number one singles on the Mainstream Rock charts, and holds a record of eleven number one singles on the Modern Rock charts.

Evanescence is an American rock band founded in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1995 by singer/pianist Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody.[1][2] After recording private albums, the band released their first full-length album, Fallen, on Wind-up Records in 2003. Fallen sold more than 15 million copies worldwide and helped the band win two Grammy Awards.[3] A year later, Evanescence released their first live album, Anywhere but Home, which sold more than one million copies worldwide. In 2006, the band released their second studio album, The Open Door, which sold more than five million copies.[4]
The line-up of the band has changed several times: David Hodges leaving in 2002, co-founder Moody left in 2003 (mid-tour), bassist Will Boyd in 2006, followed by guitarist John LeCompt and drummer Rocky Gray in 2007. The last two changes led to a hiatus, with temporary band members contributing to tour performances. In June 2009, it was announced on the Evanescence website that the band was working on new material for a third studio album for release in the second half of 2010.

1991–1996: Early Career
In February 1991, bassist Tetsuya, later band leader, recruited vocalist Hyde along with guitarist Hiro and drummer Pero, and formed a band under the name of L'Arc-en-Ciel. After a year of gaining notoriety in their hometown of Osaka, Hiro left the band on June 12, 1992. Tetsuya convinced his friend Ken to quit his university studies (he was an architecture major at The Nagoya Institute of Technology) and join the band as the guitarist, but soon left the band on December 30, 1992. In 1993, a new drummer, Sakura, joined the band.[2]
On April 1, 1993, the band released their debut album Dune under the indie label Danger Crue. The album was a success and rose to number one on the Oricon indies charts, catching the attention of some major labels. In 1994, L'Arc-en-Ciel signed on with Sony's Ki/oon division, releasing their second album, Tierra that same year. Heavenly followed in 1995. True, released in 1996, became their first number-one, million selling album.[3]
1998–2000: Blockbuster success in J-pop market
Their 1998 single "Winter Fall", became their first number-one single on the Oricon charts.[9][10] They released the album Heart on February 25, 1998. Ark and Ray were released simultaneously on July 1, 1999, and became the first Japanese albums to be released simultaneously in many other Asian countries. Both topped the Oricon music charts, with Ark occupying number one and Ray at number two. The release of ark and ray marked the commercial high point of the band's career, with each selling over two million copies.[11]
Their next album Real was released on August 30, 2000. However, it was their last studio album for some time. "Stay Away" from the album Real was featured in DrumMania 4th Mix, making the song playable on the machine.
[edit] 2001–2003: Hiatus and solo projects
The compilation Clicked Singles Best 13 was released on March 14, 2001. The compilation included twelve songs chosen by fans online in Asia[12] and an additional thirteenth song, "Anemone".[13] Their album Real was re-released as Super Audio CD on July 4, 2001. L'Arc-en-Ciel's last new single before their hiatus, "Spirit Dreams Inside: Another Dream", was released on September 5, 2001. Their English language song "Spirit Dreams Inside" was adopted for the closing theme song to the movie Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within.
After "Spirit Dreams Inside", the band went on a hiatus as the members began working on various solo projects. Hyde released two solo albums (Roentgen and 666) and starred in the movie Moon Child with the popular Japanese soloist Gackt. Hyde also played the part of Adam in the movie Kagen no Tsuki (Last Quarter), based on the manga by the same title. Ken founded Sons of All Pussys with L'Arc-en-Ciel's former drummer Sakura. Tetsu started Tetsu69 and Yukihiro sang with Acid Android.
Three compilation albums The Best of L'Arc-en-Ciel 1994–1998, The Best of L'Arc-en-Ciel 1998–2000 and The Best of L'Arc-en-Ciel C/W were released on March 19, 2003. The album series included their almost all singles at that time except "Spirit Dreams Inside -Another Dream-".
[edit] 2004: Comeback and U.S. concert debut
In June 2003, L'Arc-en-Ciel performed a series of seven concerts in Tokyo called the Shibuya Seven Days, during which they announced a new album for release the following year. The band released "Ready Steady Go" in February 2004, its first single in more than three years. The song was used as an opening for a popular anime series, Fullmetal Alchemist.[14] It topped Oricon weekly single charts.[15] A cover of the song is used in a video game for the Nintendo DS called Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan. The single was followed by "Hitomi no Jūnin", in early March. The album, Smile, was released on March 31. Shortly afterwards, on June 2, 2004, the single "Jiyuu e no Shoutai" introduced P'unk-en-Ciel, a partial change, for the first time on CD with "Milky Way".
On July 31, 2004, L'Arc-en-Ciel made their North American concert debut at the anime convention Otakon, held annually in Baltimore, Maryland. Approximately 12,000 people attended the concert, which was held at an outside venue for the first time in Otakon's musical guest history, at 1st Mariner Arena.[16] They were also the first Japanese act (and until JAM Project in 2008, the only) to perform at the Arena. On May 31, 2005, Tofu Records, Sony Music Japan's U.S. label, released the much-anticipated DVD of the Otakon 2004 concert Live in U.S.A. On June 25, 2007, L'Arc-en-Ciel signed a deal with HMV America.
[edit] 2005–2006: Asia live tour and solo projects
In 2005, the band released various singles, including "Killing Me", "New World", and "Jojōshi". These were later featured on their album, Awake, which was released on June 22 with twelve tracks, including "Lost Heaven", the closing theme of the Fullmetal Alchemist movie. The band's single, "Link", released on July 20, 2005, was also featured in the movie as the opening theme, which was included by their next album Kiss.

In August 2005, the band went on their Awake tour, which was limited to Japan. The tour featured displays of anti-war sentiment, reflecting similar lyrics of the songs of the album. The Japanese Awake tour was followed by the Asia Live 2005 tour, with performances in Seoul and Shanghai, closing with concerts in Japan. Japan's two concerts took place at the Tokyo Dome.
Following the Awake and Asia Live tours, L'Arc-en-Ciel's members turned their attention back to their solo projects. Tetsuya began recording with a new band called Creature Creature. Yukihiro rejoined Acid Android, which released single "Let's Dance" on April 5, 2006. Acid Android joined Mucc, another Japanese rock band, to perform two concerts in Shanghai, China in April 2006.[17]
Hyde composed "Glamorous Sky", the theme song to the film adaption of the manga Nana starring pop singer Mika Nakashima. It was the first time Hyde composed music for another vocalist. Hyde's latest solo album, Faith, was released in Japan on April 26, 2006, accompanied by a five month tour throughout Japan between April and August 2006. After signing on with Tofu Records, four small concerts were scheduled in San Francisco and Anaheim, California in the United States. Hyde made his U.S. debut in July 2006, the first of L'Arc-en-Ciel's solo projects to extend internationally. On August 23, Ken released a solo single entitled "Speed".[18]
[edit] 2006–2009: 15th anniversary and Europe concert debut
On November 25 and 26, 2006, L'Arc-en-Ciel played two shows at the Tokyo Dome to celebrate their 15th anniversary, entitled L'Anniversary. It sold out in two minutes, breaking their former record.[19] A poll was created on the official website during the weeks before the concert which allowed fans to pick which songs they would like to hear at the event.[20] The concert was later shown on the WOWOW channel on December 23, 2006. It was also broadcast on February 8, 2007 on Korea MTV.
L'Arc-en-Ciel later recorded the song "Shine" to be used as the opening song for the NHK anime, Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit. They kicked-off their Mata Heart Ni Hi Wo Tsukero 2007 tour in Japan. L'Arc-en-Ciel released the single "Seventh Heaven" on May 30, 2007, which topped the Oricon charts.[21] The song "My Heart Draws a Dream", used in a Subaru commercial, was released as a single on August 29, 2007, and made the #1 spot on the Oricon charts.[22] The song "Daybreak's Bell" was used as the first opening theme for the anime Mobile Suit Gundam 00.[23] It was released as a single on October 10, 2007, topping the Oricon weekly charts as well.[24] From November 14 to December 25, 2007, there was a limited edition single titled "Hurry Xmas", along with two new DVDs coming out in September and December, titled 15th L'Anniversary Live and Chronicle 3 respectively. Their new studio album Kiss, released on November 21, 2007, debuted at the number-one position on the Oricon charts.[25]
L'Arc-en-Ciel performed the Theater of Kiss tour, which was held from December 22, 2007 to February 17, 2008. The song "Drink It Down", used as the Japanese opening song for the PS3/Xbox360 game Devil May Cry 4, was released as a single on April 2, 2008, and topped the Oricon weekly charts.[26] The band went on the Tour 2008 L'7 ~Trans Asia via Paris~ which covered several major Asian cities, as well as Paris, France.[27] On this tour a definite live show hiatus until 2011 was announced. L'Arc-en-Ciel media continued to be released, a double A-side single, "Nexus 4 / Shine" and a DVD, Tour 2007-2008 Theater of Kiss were released on August 27, 2008. Live in Paris, the DVD of their live concert in Paris, was released on May 20, 2009. Hyde and K.A.Z formed rock duo Vamps and released their first album Vamps on June 10, 2009.

On December 1, 2009, L'Arc-en-Ciel announced a new single, "Bless", to be released on January 27, 2010 and will be used as the theme song to the NHK 2010 Vancouver Olympics. Also, Tetsu announced that he has changed his stage name to "Tetsuya" and released his first artist book, which ranked No.6 among the Talent Book Charts, while featuring early live pictures and a 30,000 character Interview with the bassist.[28]
On March 10th, L'Arc-en-Ciel released their 5th best-of album, entitled Quadrinity: Member's Best Selections. It is featured in 4 CDs with 7 tracks per band member, chosen and re-mastered by each of them. The first press edition also comes with a DVD which includes a variety quiz show with the band titled "The L'Arquiz".[29]

The band's current line-up is Anthony Kiedis (vocals), Michael "Flea" Balzary (bass), Chad Smith (drums) and Josh Klinghoffer (guitar). Their musical style has fused traditional funk with elements of other genres including hip hop, punk rock and psychedelic rock.
The group originally featured guitarist Hillel Slovak and drummer Jack Irons. Slovak, however, died of a heroin overdose in 1988, resulting in Irons' departure.[1] Irons was replaced briefly by former Dead Kennedys drummer D.H. Peligro before the band found a permanent replacement in Smith, while Slovak was replaced by up-and-coming guitarist John Frusciante. This lineup recorded the band's fourth and fifth albums, Mother's Milk (1989) and Blood Sugar Sex Magik (1991).
Blood Sugar Sex Magik was a significant record for the band; having sold over thirteen million copies, it provided the group's initial mainstream commercial success. Frusciante grew uncomfortable with this new found success and left abruptly in the middle of the tour for the album in 1992, descending into heroin addiction. After recruiting guitarist Arik Marshall to finish the tour, Kiedis, Flea, and Smith employed Dave Navarro of Jane's Addiction for their subsequent album, One Hot Minute (1995). Although fairly successful, it did not match the critical acclaim of Blood Sugar Sex Magik and sold less than half the copies of its predecessor. Shortly afterwards, Navarro departed the band due to creative differences. Frusciante, fresh out of drug rehabilitation, rejoined the band in 1998, at Flea's request. The reunited quartet returned to the studio to record Californication (1999), which went on to sell fifteen million units worldwide, becoming their most commercially successful album to date. It was followed three years later with By the Way (2002), which continued their success. In 2006, the group released the double album Stadium Arcadium, giving them their first American number one album.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers have won seven Grammy Awards. The band has sold over 55 million albums worldwide, has had eight singles in the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 (including three singles in the Top 10), five number one singles on the Mainstream Rock charts, and holds a record of eleven number one singles on the Modern Rock charts.

樂團的名字在英文中叫做Evanescence，中文媒體一般翻譯做伊凡賽斯，其意思就是「某事物消失的過程和狀態」。在確定樂團名字之前，埃米•李和本•穆迪還曾經考慮過很多名字，比如稚童之夢（Childish Intentions）和重疾（Strichen）等。最初很多人認為伊凡賽斯樂團會變成一支基督搖滾類型的樂團——但是後來樂團發現自己根本不想和宗教沾邊。從此以後，很多專門售賣基督類型商品的商店的貨架上再也沒有出現伊凡賽斯樂團的影子。

Evanescence is an American rock band founded in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1995 by singer/pianist Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody.[1][2] After recording private albums, the band released their first full-length album, Fallen, on Wind-up Records in 2003. Fallen sold more than 15 million copies worldwide and helped the band win two Grammy Awards.[3] A year later, Evanescence released their first live album, Anywhere but Home, which sold more than one million copies worldwide. In 2006, the band released their second studio album, The Open Door, which sold more than five million copies.[4]
The line-up of the band has changed several times: David Hodges leaving in 2002, co-founder Moody left in 2003 (mid-tour), bassist Will Boyd in 2006, followed by guitarist John LeCompt and drummer Rocky Gray in 2007. The last two changes led to a hiatus, with temporary band members contributing to tour performances. In June 2009, it was announced on the Evanescence website that the band was working on new material for a third studio album for release in the second half of 2010.

1991–1996: Early Career
In February 1991, bassist Tetsuya, later band leader, recruited vocalist Hyde along with guitarist Hiro and drummer Pero, and formed a band under the name of L'Arc-en-Ciel. After a year of gaining notoriety in their hometown of Osaka, Hiro left the band on June 12, 1992. Tetsuya convinced his friend Ken to quit his university studies (he was an architecture major at The Nagoya Institute of Technology) and join the band as the guitarist, but soon left the band on December 30, 1992. In 1993, a new drummer, Sakura, joined the band.[2]
On April 1, 1993, the band released their debut album Dune under the indie label Danger Crue. The album was a success and rose to number one on the Oricon indies charts, catching the attention of some major labels. In 1994, L'Arc-en-Ciel signed on with Sony's Ki/oon division, releasing their second album, Tierra that same year. Heavenly followed in 1995. True, released in 1996, became their first number-one, million selling album.[3]
1998–2000: Blockbuster success in J-pop market
Their 1998 single "Winter Fall", became their first number-one single on the Oricon charts.[9][10] They released the album Heart on February 25, 1998. Ark and Ray were released simultaneously on July 1, 1999, and became the first Japanese albums to be released simultaneously in many other Asian countries. Both topped the Oricon music charts, with Ark occupying number one and Ray at number two. The release of ark and ray marked the commercial high point of the band's career, with each selling over two million copies.[11]
Their next album Real was released on August 30, 2000. However, it was their last studio album for some time. "Stay Away" from the album Real was featured in DrumMania 4th Mix, making the song playable on the machine.
[edit] 2001–2003: Hiatus and solo projects
The compilation Clicked Singles Best 13 was released on March 14, 2001. The compilation included twelve songs chosen by fans online in Asia[12] and an additional thirteenth song, "Anemone".[13] Their album Real was re-released as Super Audio CD on July 4, 2001. L'Arc-en-Ciel's last new single before their hiatus, "Spirit Dreams Inside: Another Dream", was released on September 5, 2001. Their English language song "Spirit Dreams Inside" was adopted for the closing theme song to the movie Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within.
After "Spirit Dreams Inside", the band went on a hiatus as the members began working on various solo projects. Hyde released two solo albums (Roentgen and 666) and starred in the movie Moon Child with the popular Japanese soloist Gackt. Hyde also played the part of Adam in the movie Kagen no Tsuki (Last Quarter), based on the manga by the same title. Ken founded Sons of All Pussys with L'Arc-en-Ciel's former drummer Sakura. Tetsu started Tetsu69 and Yukihiro sang with Acid Android.
Three compilation albums The Best of L'Arc-en-Ciel 1994–1998, The Best of L'Arc-en-Ciel 1998–2000 and The Best of L'Arc-en-Ciel C/W were released on March 19, 2003. The album series included their almost all singles at that time except "Spirit Dreams Inside -Another Dream-".
[edit] 2004: Comeback and U.S. concert debut
In June 2003, L'Arc-en-Ciel performed a series of seven concerts in Tokyo called the Shibuya Seven Days, during which they announced a new album for release the following year. The band released "Ready Steady Go" in February 2004, its first single in more than three years. The song was used as an opening for a popular anime series, Fullmetal Alchemist.[14] It topped Oricon weekly single charts.[15] A cover of the song is used in a video game for the Nintendo DS called Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan. The single was followed by "Hitomi no Jūnin", in early March. The album, Smile, was released on March 31. Shortly afterwards, on June 2, 2004, the single "Jiyuu e no Shoutai" introduced P'unk-en-Ciel, a partial change, for the first time on CD with "Milky Way".
On July 31, 2004, L'Arc-en-Ciel made their North American concert debut at the anime convention Otakon, held annually in Baltimore, Maryland. Approximately 12,000 people attended the concert, which was held at an outside venue for the first time in Otakon's musical guest history, at 1st Mariner Arena.[16] They were also the first Japanese act (and until JAM Project in 2008, the only) to perform at the Arena. On May 31, 2005, Tofu Records, Sony Music Japan's U.S. label, released the much-anticipated DVD of the Otakon 2004 concert Live in U.S.A. On June 25, 2007, L'Arc-en-Ciel signed a deal with HMV America.
[edit] 2005–2006: Asia live tour and solo projects
In 2005, the band released various singles, including "Killing Me", "New World", and "Jojōshi". These were later featured on their album, Awake, which was released on June 22 with twelve tracks, including "Lost Heaven", the closing theme of the Fullmetal Alchemist movie. The band's single, "Link", released on July 20, 2005, was also featured in the movie as the opening theme, which was included by their next album Kiss.

In August 2005, the band went on their Awake tour, which was limited to Japan. The tour featured displays of anti-war sentiment, reflecting similar lyrics of the songs of the album. The Japanese Awake tour was followed by the Asia Live 2005 tour, with performances in Seoul and Shanghai, closing with concerts in Japan. Japan's two concerts took place at the Tokyo Dome.
Following the Awake and Asia Live tours, L'Arc-en-Ciel's members turned their attention back to their solo projects. Tetsuya began recording with a new band called Creature Creature. Yukihiro rejoined Acid Android, which released single "Let's Dance" on April 5, 2006. Acid Android joined Mucc, another Japanese rock band, to perform two concerts in Shanghai, China in April 2006.[17]
Hyde composed "Glamorous Sky", the theme song to the film adaption of the manga Nana starring pop singer Mika Nakashima. It was the first time Hyde composed music for another vocalist. Hyde's latest solo album, Faith, was released in Japan on April 26, 2006, accompanied by a five month tour throughout Japan between April and August 2006. After signing on with Tofu Records, four small concerts were scheduled in San Francisco and Anaheim, California in the United States. Hyde made his U.S. debut in July 2006, the first of L'Arc-en-Ciel's solo projects to extend internationally. On August 23, Ken released a solo single entitled "Speed".[18]
[edit] 2006–2009: 15th anniversary and Europe concert debut
On November 25 and 26, 2006, L'Arc-en-Ciel played two shows at the Tokyo Dome to celebrate their 15th anniversary, entitled L'Anniversary. It sold out in two minutes, breaking their former record.[19] A poll was created on the official website during the weeks before the concert which allowed fans to pick which songs they would like to hear at the event.[20] The concert was later shown on the WOWOW channel on December 23, 2006. It was also broadcast on February 8, 2007 on Korea MTV.
L'Arc-en-Ciel later recorded the song "Shine" to be used as the opening song for the NHK anime, Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit. They kicked-off their Mata Heart Ni Hi Wo Tsukero 2007 tour in Japan. L'Arc-en-Ciel released the single "Seventh Heaven" on May 30, 2007, which topped the Oricon charts.[21] The song "My Heart Draws a Dream", used in a Subaru commercial, was released as a single on August 29, 2007, and made the #1 spot on the Oricon charts.[22] The song "Daybreak's Bell" was used as the first opening theme for the anime Mobile Suit Gundam 00.[23] It was released as a single on October 10, 2007, topping the Oricon weekly charts as well.[24] From November 14 to December 25, 2007, there was a limited edition single titled "Hurry Xmas", along with two new DVDs coming out in September and December, titled 15th L'Anniversary Live and Chronicle 3 respectively. Their new studio album Kiss, released on November 21, 2007, debuted at the number-one position on the Oricon charts.[25]
L'Arc-en-Ciel performed the Theater of Kiss tour, which was held from December 22, 2007 to February 17, 2008. The song "Drink It Down", used as the Japanese opening song for the PS3/Xbox360 game Devil May Cry 4, was released as a single on April 2, 2008, and topped the Oricon weekly charts.[26] The band went on the Tour 2008 L'7 ~Trans Asia via Paris~ which covered several major Asian cities, as well as Paris, France.[27] On this tour a definite live show hiatus until 2011 was announced. L'Arc-en-Ciel media continued to be released, a double A-side single, "Nexus 4 / Shine" and a DVD, Tour 2007-2008 Theater of Kiss were released on August 27, 2008. Live in Paris, the DVD of their live concert in Paris, was released on May 20, 2009. Hyde and K.A.Z formed rock duo Vamps and released their first album Vamps on June 10, 2009.

On December 1, 2009, L'Arc-en-Ciel announced a new single, "Bless", to be released on January 27, 2010 and will be used as the theme song to the NHK 2010 Vancouver Olympics. Also, Tetsu announced that he has changed his stage name to "Tetsuya" and released his first artist book, which ranked No.6 among the Talent Book Charts, while featuring early live pictures and a 30,000 character Interview with the bassist.[28]
On March 10th, L'Arc-en-Ciel released their 5th best-of album, entitled Quadrinity: Member's Best Selections. It is featured in 4 CDs with 7 tracks per band member, chosen and re-mastered by each of them. The first press edition also comes with a DVD which includes a variety quiz show with the band titled "The L'Arquiz".[29]
